My first Karen Marie Moning book and the story is Hawks, the Laird of the Douglas clan.

I’ve read a few books that had The Fey in them, so I was instantly interested. The title is beautiful. Also, it might be that I’m a nutcase for highlander novels so ummm ... *daydreaming*

Really, didn’t know where to put Charles in this book. Second hero? I don’t know. He played such a huge role in the whole book yet we knew he’s dying somewhere in the middle of it. Jesse, I really loved him, just too perfect of a guy. There was only one statement about Maddie Charles made that I didn’t like, otherwise he was a near perfect, too good a man as well. And the kids, GOD! They were so so ADORABLE. Lorraine Heath writes children so well, this book proved it once again.

Hmm, I can’t decide what to REALLY write about this book. I liked it, liked a lot of things about it but I was sorely disappointed as well. Maybe I expected a bit too much because I so liked Austin in the first two books, was really looking forward to his book. But, *sigh*

“Dreams were the stepping stones to glory.”

My god! This book made me the ultimate watering pot. WOW! Dallas turned out to be one heck of a sweet pea and Dee, not as odd I thought she was. I have to say, the 1st half of the book was quite slow and a bit frustrating but the 2nd half made it for me, 10 times over. I cried and I laughed and had this silly grin on my face in the end. And, GOD, Houston and Amelia’s daughter Maggie was so so adorable!

Some Like It Wild
Kincaid Highlander #2

Teresa Medeiros
Historical Romance
Published in 2009

H/h - Connor Kincaid/Pamela Darby
Setting: England/ Scotland, the Highlands, 1814.

Read in Jan, 2011.
My rating:

Note: Absolutely adored the hero Connor, such a hunk of a man and sweet, too. *sigh*

Seriously, I like Connor and I kinda like Pamela as I like all the heroines with brown hair/eyes and a curvy body, who isn't the 'belle of the ball' type. I wish she was smarter since she isn't entirely dumb. So, why on earth she's concocted such a moronic and risky plan??? And, also Connor's playing along with her. Sometimes, I don't know what to think.

Some Like It Wicked by Teresa Medeiros

Some Like It Wicked
Kincaid Highlander #1

Teresa Medeiros
Historical Romance
Published in 2008

H/h - Simon Wescott/Catriona Kincaid
Setting:  England/Scotland, the Highlands, 1810.

Read in Jan, 2011.
My rating:

Hmm, the story is not uncommon but good. Simon is the kind of hero really grates on me, too rakish heroes often do. I don't care that he was a bastard and all that. Just what kinda people waste their live in such a pathetic way? In these circumstances, the only thing I keep thinking is the various kinds of diseases, not a very pleasant thought at all.
