Hmm, this was a good novella. I liked it but as usual (with any novella) finished it with lots of questions buzzing in my mind. This really doesn’t connect with any other book in the series except the Fey meddling with peoples’ lives, again. This novella has time travel, also can be found in the Anthology Tapestry (2002), which was published before book 6 and 7.

A little note: For what it’s worth, I think it’s a beautiful cover. Oh to be in that embrace...

This is Cian’s book, he’s an ancestor of Drustan and Dageus’s. This book connects book no 4 and 5 through some incidents and of course, the recurrent characters.

Oh, this is the last book (sort of) in the Highlander series. This leaves me a bit sad; I wish there were more. Cian was sexy, Jessica was good; I enjoyed the book as a whole. Even then there were things bugged me. This book also do not have time travel (in that sense, no coming back and forth between centuries) but Cian is an ancestor to Drustan and Dageus, a very powerful Kelter druid himself who was tricked by a fellow druid turned dark sorcerer he thought was his friend. Not much of Tuatha Dé Danaan, except in the very end.

Yep, pretty much sums up the Adam I read in the 1st few book in this series. And, DAMN he was IRRITATING! Oops, oh did I say it out loud? Sorry, couldn’t help it. I just wanted to strangle him in a few of them and kick his vainglorious Fey butt in the others but boy, he surprised me in his own book! Yah, as I mentioned in my review of The Dark Highlander, Adam has gone soft and... left me sighing more than once and calling Gabby a ‘lucky b*tch’ (nothing new, Chloe and Gwen both were the same to me!). No no, I actually liked Gabrielle a lot (and the way Adam called her Gah-bry-yil... ooh, wonder how he’ll pronounce my name *fans herself*). Anyway, this book has no time travel but has a lot of Tuatha Dé Danaan, with Drustan and Dageus with their family present.

This book is Drustan’s twin Dageus’s. He’s also a Kelter Druid who turned dark...

Holy hell. I’m kinda scared to do a review. Dageus you beast! I’ve been having troubles forming my review since I’ve had such mixed feelings about him for the better part of the book, most of it was doubt, even knowing why he did what he did. Yet, in the end, he made me (I mean made me) take him in me, so typical of him! And, no pun intended, seriously. I didn’t think he’d be the type of hero I can’t just open my arms and heart to and go nuts about. Oh, but and it’s all about ‘but’... So please bear with my blabbering. This book has time travel from present day, also the story takes place almost after where Kiss of the Highlander ends. Tuatha Dé Danaan play a vital role (queen Aoibheal and Adam mostly) in the book.

This book is Drustan’s, who is a Kelter Druid and the Laird of the MacKelter clan. Doesn’t really connect book 1, 2 and 3 in anyway.

Oh aye, Drustan, you take my breath away honey! Really, this book was amazing, simply because of him. As usual, I loved the stories/myths about Celtic Druids and their lore, how MacKelters came to be the main descendants of the Kelter druids. There were loads of scientific, astronomical stuffs that went wayyyy over me wee brain and made me think ‘huh?’ more than once, so I’ll avoid them very conveniently. *grins* This book has time travel from the present day.

This book connects the series with some ancestors of the first two books and the recurring character Adam. It’s Cincenn's book, the Laird and Thane of the Brodie clan.

Oh, this book is full of history! I’ve just clarified a few things/terms/words I didn’t know about. Phew! Ms. Moning did her research well I guess. Though I don’t like to ‘study’ history, I do love to do my own little research when I’m reading a book. This book includes incidents from the battle of Bannockburn, the castle Dunnottar, the Picts (and Brudes), of course the Fey and Tuatha Dé Danann (with our favorite Adam!) and some of the ancestors of the heroes/villains of book 1 and 2 ie: the Douglas, Comyn and McIllioch. The story is set in the middle ages and includes time travel from 21st century.

This one’s Grimm’s book, best friend of Hawk, hero of  book 1. Grimm is the future chieftain of the McIllioch clan.

Yah, I didn’t like everything and there were more than one frustrating moment in it but over all, it was a good one. I don’t know why people say 1st 2 in the series aren’t worth reading! I believe they are, with plot holes and all. This book was better than Beyond the Highland Mist no doubt. Ms. Moning’s narrative style changed A LOT. This book has no time travel like the other books in the series.
