A Game of Dress-Up

Elliot Mabeuse
Contemporary Romance/Erotica (light BDSM)
Published in 2006

H/h - Rob Taylor/Vanessa Wallace
Setting: Present time.

Read in Mar, 2012.
My rating:

                                              [spoiler alert]

Another crazy Dr. Mabeuse book and I’m not sure what to feel about it overall. I only know that I have this strange fascination with his stories; even though there are elements I find offensive and thoughts I don’t at all agree with, I still read them. I was almost giving it a 2 star when I fortunately got the lessons it offered, which saved the book for me. Guess I should’ve put a bit more trust in Dr. Mabeuse.

Lord of Always

Cynthia Wicklund
Historical Romance/Paranormal
Published in 2010

H/h - Evan Richmond, Viscount Rutherford/Brenna Hilliard
Setting: England, 1842.

Read in Mar, 2012.
My rating:

                                                    [spoiler alert]

My 1st experience with Cynthia Wicklund’s book has been pretty remarkable. I loved it, as simple as that. I loved the story, the plotline, the characters A LOT. And, CW’s writing, that was simply superb. Almost perfect in prose structure and style. Lord of Always has a great twist of paranormal going on in the book which starts with a story in the millennia old Ireland, about a man called Owein. I believe I have to start the review with this love story that played a vital role in the actual story of Evan and Brenna.

Friday Nights (novella)

Casey Wilder
Contemporary Romance/Erotica
Published in 2011 [Requested Review]

H/h - Court Beaumont/Lacey
Setting: Present time.

Read in Mar, 2012.
My rating:

                                                        [spoiler alert]

When I finished Friday Nights, the 1st thing that came to my mind was I wanted more. I wanted the continuation of the story and to see something deeper developing between Lacey and Court. The ending felt totally incomplete and I didn’t like the feeling.

A Lady Never Surrenders
Hellions of Hallstead Hall #5

Sabrina Jeffries
Historical Romance
Published in 2012

H/h - Jackson Pinter/Lady Celia Sharpe
Setting: Ealing/London, 1825.

Read in Mar, 2012.
My rating:

                                                           [spoiler alert]

This book was much better than the previous one, To Wed a Wild Lord. I totally enjoyed the ride with Celia and Pinter, even though there were times I felt ‘that something missing’ from the book. Celia was smart, Pinter was intriguing but I wish I had more exploration of their relationship alongside the murder mystery of the Sharpe parents that has been going on since book #1.
