Honestly I’m not even motivated to write a full review for this book, but I’ll do it anyway. When I see all those 5 stars in GR, I keep thinking if I’ve read the same book or not, because to me, Highlander Most Wanted was plain boring and disappointing. I zzzZZzz my way through the last 40% of it, while eye-rolled through almost all. I liked book 1 quite a bit more than this. I think MB needs to refresh her writing style, which was terribly repetitive and predictable. I’ve read better, much better stuff from some wonderful debut authors this year. Her storyline bordered on.......... did I mention, BORING?

Never Seduce a Scot by MB is a story of a deaf-mute heroine and how she conquers the long enmity between her clan and her husband’s, whom she was forced to marry. This is the introductory book in the new series The Montgomerys and Armstrongs. I’ve been waiting for this book ever since I read MB’s McCabe Trilogy and heard that she’s writing more Highlander stories. So, was it worthwhile? TBH, mostly, it was. But in some aspect, I was a bit disappointed. I liked MB’s writing, and as always enjoyed, as I do a hero in kilt and a story set in the Highlands. Let me see if I can elaborate in my review, in the following.

In the final installment of the McCabe Trilogy Never Love a Highlander, the story gets its fulfillment. Almost... IMO. The troubles with the Camerons are solved for the McCabe brothers. I already said in my review of Seduction of a Highland Lass that I really enjoyed this trilogy and my introduction to Maya Banks. In the future, I’ll read any Historical/Medieval/Highlander books MB writes and am looking forward to the next HR series she plans to write sometimes in the next year.

The 2nd book of McCabe Trilogy was soooo good, seriously! I didn’t know what to expect yet I enjoyed it SO much. Both Keeley and Alaric gave a great read, surprised and made me cry as well. This book had its funny moments and those silly banters between the brothers. I loved them. There were also many frustrating things for me. Still I have to say, I’m truly enjoying this trilogy a lot.

In Bed with a Highlander
McCabe Trilogy #1

Maya Banks
Medieval Romance
Published in 2011

H/h - Ewan McCabe, the Laird of McCabe/Mairin Stuart
Setting: Scotland, the Highlands, in the time of King David I.

Read in Dec, 2011.
My rating:

The 1st book in Maya Bank’s McCabe Trilogy was a good one, despite the fact that I did (like some other reviews) find similarities with Julie Garwood (sometimes even Lynsay Sands) Highlander books. But it can’t be avoided since I’ve read all of JG’s and LS’s HR/Medieval books. It’s very tough to find someone JG’s equal who writes Highlander books as well as she did. I have to say, even then, MB did a great job with the story, the characters and there were plenty of funny moments I really enjoyed. I’ve never read any erotica by MB so this is my 1st book of her as well. I sincerely have no complaints about her writing/narrative style.
