Behind the Red Door (anthology)
Ever After Novellas #2-4

Jackie Barbosa
Historical Romance/Erotica
Published in 2009

Read in Dec, 2012.
My rating:

                                                     [spoiler alert]

The rating (3.75 stars) is based on 3 stories, Wickedly Ever After (3.75), Scandalously Ever After (4) and Sinfully Ever After (3.5).

Behind the Red Door was a hot little anthology no doubt but my feelings are mixed about the stories, which I’ll try to elaborate in my review. But one thing I was sure of, that Jackie Barbosa is an excellent writer. I just loved her writing and her way with words. I’ll be checking out more of her books in the future.

My rating:

Carnally Ever After was a fun little novella, I must say! It had me giggling all through the way. But there were those scenes that had me shaking my head, too. Even though the initial novella was too short for me, I really loved the bonus epilogue. JB is an excellent writer no doubt.

The Reiver (novella)
A free installment

Jackie Barbosa
Historical Romance/Erotica
Published in 2011

H/h - Duncan Maxwell, the Laird of Maxwell/Jamie Johnstone
Setting: Scottish borders, 1595.

Read in Aug, 2012.
My rating:

                                                      [spoiler alert]

The Reiver was really short. I mean, only about 16 pages or so. I liked the story and all, but it was so short that I’m not sure what to comment on. JB is a new-to-me author and so, reading this was sort of a prelude to try her other books, which I’ve been meaning to read for sometimes now. I can honestly say that I’m not disappointed.
