Kate is ready to start a new life in a great city. Determined to follow her dream, she left college to write a book. Arriving in New York City, she vows to live in the present, not the past. Easy for most to say, except she has a secret. Kate is a time traveler.

She met the love of her life back in 1927. But he’s here now. No looking back. No going back.

An Exclusive Excerpt from Second Chances:

“In truth? What the past is to you, is new to me. That mall was built after I was born, but I never experienced the decade. I’m drawn to those years. I feel I still have so much to learn, Kate. I jumped decades. I never lived during the fifties or the sixties.”

“Neither did I!” Kate laughed as she took a sip of wine. “We’re even.”

“You know what I mean.” Drew’s smile disappeared. “My father died in the seventies. My family experienced those times. Maybe that’s why. The mall was constructed in 1961.”

“I don’t know what you can learn from a rundown old shopping mall, but I know you’ll take awesome pictures.”

“I plan to read up on the place before I go. I want to picture it as a vibrant, thriving being.”

“You make it sound like it’s alive.” Kate studied him. Drew’s passion made her excited about the project. “I think that’s a good thing.”

“Wish you could go,” Drew said as he popped the chicken into the fry pan. “It would be fun to explore together.”

“I’d love to, but I’m going back Sunday evening. Saturday’s dedicated to you, and I want to see my parents on Sunday.”

“Before we go over there, we need to talk.”

“Oh, the time travel business.”

Drew flipped the chicken. “Squeeze those lemons into the bowl, would you please?” He picked up a whisk and handed it to her. “Then stir.”

Kate looked up at him. “What is it, Drew? Why are you stalling?”
